From Little Acorns Big Oaks Grow - a page from my my father’s drawing workbook of illustrations done when he was 10 years old.
Children’s Art is honest and uncomplicated. I have collected children’s Art for over twenty five years and wish I had taken photos of all the super work I’ve seen hung in school hallways over the years, including writing and poetry. The young work best with no more direction than a theme to create something fantastic.
The Children’s Nature Gallery
The theme of this website is trees, but since there are so many things that rely on the goodness that trees provide, and the general message is about care, the work posted is about the topic of Nature in general. I welcome Artwork in the form of writing, poems, drawings, paintings, photos of sculpture … anything creative. Some theme suggestions are: animals, birds, reptiles, fish, weather, oceans, water, fire, wind, sky, seasons, fruit, flowers, yards and homes…possibly with people, …and of course trees. You send it, I’ll consider it.
If you do not have a scanner, please email me at nikki_coulombe@hotmail.com for information on how to mail a copy of the Artwork. Names and address are held in confidence, not used for any purpose but correspondence and will be deleted as mail is received.
Thanks for participating!
Adrian’s My reflection in a puddle is one of the most memorable drawings; when I speak with others about this topic my mind always goes to this picture. In this colored-pencil drawing Adrian shows us rain in every form: in the clouds, falling through the sky, bouncing off the roof, in the evestroughs, splattering on the ground, and into a puddle where his image is reflected. The perfect finishing detail is a drop in the puddle creating the ripple effect.
