Bark has thorned barnicle-like bumps.
Jack Pine, Wyoming - cones depend on fire to open and release seeds. Sweetgum or Planetree - Sycamore family - Irving, Texas - welcome positive ID; has same capsules as Sweetgum, but this bark color seems to be uncommon Eastern Red Cedar has durable, aromatic properties and resists insect attack so is used as moth-proof cupboard linings and products Ponderosa Pine, North Carolina
Possibly a variety of Hackberry, needs positive ID; is growing in the same stand of forest as Hackberry, beside a canal in Coppell, Texas Cabbage Palmetto - native to Florida, Carribean coastlines Pecan bark - a tree cultivated in southern U.S. for its fruit - the official State tree of Texas White Birch with cracked aging bark
Old Bur Oak, Coppell, TX - reaching heights of 130 ft., with acorns larger than any other oak.
